*this was started on Christmas and finished the following day 🙂
Merry Christmas, lovies! I have a lot of Christmas fun to catch up on. First I’ll start with the couples cookie swap party at Kim and Brett’s last week.
Yeah, a lot of amazing cookies and amazing company! Sorry I didn’t get a whole group shot! I made the chocolate cookies with mint m&m’s. And look at this cutie pie!!!
Joe and I were too excited and gave each other one gift on the 23rd…not even Christmas Eve. No patience! I gave him a Snapfish book I made of our Honeymoon and he gave me yummy tea.
Then the next morning (Christmas Eve) Joe woke up and made us breakfast! He went on my blog and followed the recipe for chocolate chip-banana-whole wheat pancakes with peanut butter, and sausage. So cute and they were sooo good! My grandma gave me this cute snowman platter. I ate on this Rudolph plate my mentor teacher gave me from student teaching. 🙂
We opened stockings!
Oh wow, Joe spoiled me.
Two boxes of Nunaturals Stevia packets, liquid Stevia drops, Sugar Cookie sleigh ride tea, Julie and Julia (love that movie!), a pink can opener (our old one was awful!), and a cute pink hands free bluetooth!
I gave him lots of candy and different kinds of K cups for our Keurig coffee maker, and a couple pairs of warm socks for his boots with work. My stocking gifts I got for him were boring compared to the ones he got for me!
We headed over to my parents’ house in the afternoon on Christmas Eve. My mom had the house decorated so beautifully. We had SOOO much rain (it seriously rained for well over 24 hours-it would’ve been so much snow!). The rain was freezing on the branches and it looked beautiful but made so many branches break off.
Isn’t the tree so cute?! They bought this real tree (they always used to use an artificial) and it was so tiny. My dad wrote this story while we were eating appetizers from the perspective of this tree and oh.my.goodness. It was the cutest, funniest, and sweetest story!!! We laughed, we cried. It was awesome. I want him to get it published. I may post it on the blog, but I don’t know. I don’t want it taken from him! hahaha
We went to church and came back and had delicious apps and dinner. We had shrimp, crab cakes, feta and caramelized onion tarts, chips and guac, nuts, etc. for apps. Then for dinner Mom made cheese ravioli, honeybaked turkey breast, mashed potatoes, sweet carrots, a big salad with sugared pecans and dried cranberries, bread, and I think I got it all? Cookies for dessert!
Then it was present time. Oh geez. I hesitate to put this out there because I just feel really spoiled. I am incredibly blessed with family that loves me and is so generous in all ways. I don’t say this to brag, but just point out that I recognize how insanely generous this all is.
Joe gave me this:
A Canon Rebel T1i!!!
I was squealing with delight!
Aaaand my parents gave us this:
Yay!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you Joe, Mom, and Dad!
Now, how do I sift through the HUNDREDS of pictures I’ve taken the past few days? I have so much to learn, but it’s been really fun snapping pictures left and right! Joe made breakfast with Katie and Sam on Christmas morning. I love his smileys.
We went to my Aunt Michelle and Uncle Gary’s later that day. I love my family and am so blessed.
The night was filled with laughter, love, and good food. Thank you, Jesus!
I think this was the longest post to date. If you stuck with me, thank you! And I hope you had a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones too.
Happy Birthday to my sweet sister-in-law, Anna! I’m so grateful to hang with my in-laws today! It has been snowing like crazy! Pictures of her day to come soon.
“I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11
